Nintendo Lite – The Choice of the Gaming Classes
Having a good portable game with the best graphics and characteristics is all that matters to the gamers. The arrival of the Nintendo DS was a watershed for gamers both young and old with it’s versatility, speed and range of available games heralding a new age of portable gaming options. As is the norm for succesful products, better, faster, more powerful versions are never far behind. In this case, two years after the Nintendo DS arrived on the market, the nintendo lite appeared. Game players from around the globe are more than happy to upgrade to the new Nintendo Lite DS to take advantage of the superior styling and functionality.
The Nintendo Lite is actually a little smaller and weighed less than the DS. An upgraded batery pack gives more playing time between charging. The original DS was good for about ten hours playtime, whereas the new nintendo lite gives you between 50-90% extra. When the new battery pack does eventually need recharging, it’s a blessing that it now gets fully recharged in only three hours, not four, as is the case with the earlier DS platform.
Another difference in the two Nintendo game players was that the lighting capability was considerably different. The nintendo ds had a single,one size fits all light system. That is the back light that is used when the system power button was turned on. With the newer nintendo lite, there are varying degrees of lighting capabilities. This new adaptation means the player can adjust the settings depending on where they are playing to give them a better view. This characteristic is a major selling point of the new game system.
The new nintendo lite has also been given a style makeover with new bold colours including hot pink to the uber cool white ds lite. Cementing the new player as a must have fashion gadget. It’s not only the color that has evolved, the original thin stylus has been surpassed by an easier to use thicker version. The nintendo lite player controls have also been restyled and re-positioned. Giving the player more contol and comfort during game time.
Judging by the take up of the new nintendo lite amongst existing ds owners, the upgraded console has been a big hit. A huge plus is that game cartridges for either system are completely interchangeable and if that wasn’t enough, the new lite also plays gameboy games. Who knows what is still to come, but without doubt this new Nintendo Lite is for now the standard against which, all other portable gaming systems will be judged.
